Olympus zoom stereo microscopes: next generation SZX2 family
of scopes from Olympus.
The new SZX2 stereomicroscope series is the result of our engineers’ steady
pursuit of ultra-refined Galilean optics - the industry standard optical system
for advanced stereomicroscopy. The SZX2 lineup is designed to increase contrast
and resolution for obtaining the highest image quality during macro observation
at low magnification, as well as optimum resolution at high magnification.
Enchanced versatility is assured by the world’s highest zoom range and increased
focal depth.
The new features and options of our newest generation SZX2 microscopes allow
for high level application-oriented imaging and digital archiving tasks within
the electronics and materials science areas.
Olympus’s SZX research grade microscope series provides maximum flexibility for
observation and documentation. There are three different models in the range.

The truly versatile SZX 16 represents optical performance at the world’s
highest standards. Designed for high level research applications, its ability to
resolve 900 line/mm is ideal for the evaluation of micron sized objects.
This new dimension in stereo microscope viewing is a result of newly designed
observation tubes with an improved convergence angle in combination with our
unique high n.a. SDF super depth of focus
parfocal objective series.

With two objectives mounted simultaneously on a revolving turret the full zoom
range (.7x - 11.5x) of the SZX 16 can be utilized by simply rotating from one objective
to another - without the need for refocusing. Also digital images and measurements of
the highest quality can be assured by utilizing the turret's on-axis detent
feature in conjunction with the zoom magnification clickstop found on the body
of the microscope.

logical selection. This model offers a distortion-free system design
intended for research-grade yet routine inspection tasks.

and ergonomically designed accessories (such as the tilting trinocular tube)
make this model an ideal choice for accurate viewing and digital image archiving.

SZX 7

The SZX 7 offers a 7:1 zoom ratio and outstanding performance at an affordable price.
With Electro Static Discharge protection built into the construction of the zoom
body along with many of its accessories, the SZX 7 can be used with assurance for
the inspection and quality control of electronic parts, sub assemblies, particulates
in filters, etc.
